Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Merryoaks!

As we reflect on 2024, it’s clear this year has truly lived up to its reputation as the “year of chaos.” Globally, elections in over 70 countries have shaped decisions for half the human race. For me, financial, economic, and personal challenges have made this a year to remember—for better or worse.

That said, at Merryoaks, we’re grateful to say that 2024 has been fruitful for us and our valued clients. However, it’s no secret that the road has been tougher, requiring us to work twice as hard to achieve the same outcomes as years gone by. In our trusted advisor role, we’ve witnessed firsthand the struggles many developers have faced, and this has been one of the more difficult aspects of our journey.

Even so, our passion for real estate investment, development, and finance never wavers. These challenges only strengthen our relationship and solution-focused approach as we work side by side with clients we deeply cherish.

Supporting your projects and ambitions remains our greatest privilege, and it’s a testament to the resilience of our partnerships that we’ve navigated these times together.

For the past 24 months, my mantra has been “Survive till 2025.” Now, as we enter the new year, that mantra will be put to the test—and I truly hope it will come true. With signs of political stability (albeit from a government many may disagree with) and the Bank of England moving interest rates in the right direction, I am optimistic that a corner will soon be turned. Together, we can look forward to renewed opportunities and a brighter horizon in 2025.
